2083-6-15 - Mr. Pramod Bhakta Acharya Assumes Office as Member Secretary of CTEVT
Bhaktapur, October 1, 2026 - Mr. Pramod Bhakta Acharya officially assumed office as the newly appointed Member Secretary of the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) on Aswin 15, 2083 B.S. His appointment was made by the Council of Ministers on Aswin 2, 2083 B.S., in accordance with the provisions outlined in the CTEVT Act, 2045, and the CTEVT Rules, 2051.
Upon assuming office, Mr. Acharya was warmly welcomed by the then Officiating Member Secretary, Er. Anoj Bhattarai, alongside CTEVT staff. During the welcome program, Mr. Acharya expressed that CTEVT plays a paramount role in national development, emphasizing that the institution can achieve even greater impact through strong teamwork among its employees.
Mr. Acharya brings over 30 years of extensive experience in Nepal’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector. Prior to taking on this executive role, he served in several key leadership capacities within CTEVT, including Director of the QualiTY Project, Director of the Affiliation and Accreditation Division, and Controller of Examinations.
As stipulated in the CTEVT Act, 2045, the Member Secretary is designated by the Government of Nepal from among the employees of the Council. Likewise, Rule 3(Ka) of the CTEVT Rules, 2051, provides for a selection committee for the position, chaired by the Honorable Member (Education Sector) of the National Planning Commission (NPC). The committee initiated the selection process by inviting applications on Jestha 21, 2083 B.S. Following candidate interviews conducted on Bhadra 30, 2083 B.S., the committee submitted its recommendations to the Government of Nepal.
